Live Agent Security Camera Monitoring Service
Enhance your security with AI-assisted remote video monitoring and catch the criminal BEFORE they break in. Rather than commercial security cameras that only capture footage of a crime already in progress, our proactive solution alerts DFW Security agents to suspicious activity seen on your cameras so they can take action BEFORE a crime has been committed.
How it Works
Step 1: Video Event Detected. Cameras detect suspicious activity according to pre-defined parameters and alert remote agents at our monitoring center.
Step 2: Monitoring Agents View Cameras. Agents evaluate the threat and decide on the appropriate course of action.
Step 3: Agents Take Action. Depending on each unique situation, operators can speak to intruders through the cameras, sound a siren, dispatch police or even disregard if it’s a false alarm.
Step 4: Agents Notify Customer. Although you may wish to have the cameras notify you directly, you can also specify a list of who to alert to situations and subsequent actions taken.
What RVM is NOT
Remote video monitoring is NOT a live guard watching your cameras 24/7. Agents only view your cameras when a specified event is triggered. It relies on artificial intelligence to identify objects, and on an agent’s subjective assessment of the situation.
Remote Video Monitoring is NOT Visual Verification, although they are similar and often confused. Visual Verification is when monitoring station operators view cameras after an alarm to verify its validity. Remote Video Monitoring is when operators view cameras even when a security alarm has not been triggered.
Customizations
To get the most out of your remote guarding service, it is important to set the system up for success right from the beginning. Take advantage of some of these available customizations to narrow down significant events and reduce false alarms.
Schedules. Specify the days and times you want RVM to be active.
GEO Fencing. Connect your cell phones and map out virtual borders so RVM will only be active when designated people are away from the property.
Alarm Status. Choose to only activate RVM when your alarm system is armed.
Locations. Use ground zones and virtual tripwires to designate important areas for monitoring and filter out unnecessary areas.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do the cameras know which activities are important?
DFW Security’s cameras are set up to differentiate between people, vehicles, packages and animals. They can also analyze time in motion, activity patterns and pre-defined times and areas of interest.
What about privacy?
Customers have full control over which cameras and devices are accessible for remote monitoring. Agents can only view and control approved devices, with their actions becoming a part of the permanent log.
How many cameras do I need?
Our experts can help you determine the appropriate total number of cameras for your protection, but we can implement remote video monitoring on just one camera or many.
Are there any special requirements for remote video monitoring?
Yes. Any cameras used for RMV must be hardwired. You must also have ultra-fast internet with a steady signal and enough upload speed for virtual guard services to work properly.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on the number of cameras monitored and the number of monitored events. A quote will be provided after a DFW Security expert visits your site; however, you can rest assured that it is exceedingly less expensive than hiring an onsite security guard.
What are some advantages of RMV?
Remote video monitoring is easier and less expensive than hiring a full-time security guard, with less risk of physical harm or human error. RVM also limits disruptions by filtering out unimportant activity from false alarms to you have more time to focus on what’s really important.
